Kaylene Diaz, horn

Kaylene Diaz has been second horn with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra since 2016. An active performer in the region, she frequently substitutes with the Omaha Symphony, South Dakota Symphony, and Plymouth Brass.  She has also performed at the National Music Festival, Italian Brass Week, and the International Horn Symposium. Her primary horn instructors were Charles “Skip” Snead, Lowell Greer, and Dr. Alan Mattingly. Kaylene has also studied with internationally renowned musicians such as Dale Clevenger, Frøydis Ree Wekre, Stefan de Leval Jezierski, Bernhard Scully, and Jeff Nelsen.

Kaylene serves as Adjunct Professor of Horn at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. She holds a DMA and MM in Horn Performance from the University of Nebraska, and earned her BM in Music Performance at the University of Alabama, Summa Cum Laude. Kaylene lives in Lincoln, where she is also a professional dog trainer.
