Mission Statement

The mission of the Omaha Chamber Music Society is to promote quality performance and appreciation of live chamber music by, and for, the people of Greater Omaha. Intense musical study and preparation will promote the ensembles' artistic and educational presence in communities previously underserved in the area of chamber music.

Why Chamber Music

Broaden the presence of classical music in Omaha during the summer months
Increase public awareness and support of the vast and wonderful chamber music repertoire
Provide educational and coaching programs for students, chamber music enthusiasts, and aspiring chamber players
Help make Omaha a culturally first-rate city

History

October 6, 2000 — OCMS was incorporated
Spring 2001 — non-profit status was obtained
November 2001 — Performed our first Music at Midday concert
Summer 2002 — Inaugurated our Summer Concert Series
