The Omaha Chamber Music Society is dedicated to bringing outstanding chamber music to the greater Omaha community. Since 2001, the Omaha Chamber Music Society has presented its Summer Concert Season each June, featuring outstanding professional musicians drawn from the local community. These concerts have grown steadily and have built a dedicated group of followers and supporters who appreciate the high quality of the performances.
Omaha Chamber Music Society has forged collaborations throughout the community, working with partners that include Omaha and Millard Public Schools, Omaha Area Youth Orchestras, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Hospice House, The Durham Museum, Omaha Children’s Museum and the Jewish Community Center. Through these collaborations, The Omaha Chamber Music Society has expanded its activities in outreach and education, reaching out to bring chamber music into many areas of the community. During the 2015-2016 season, the Omaha Chamber Music Society reached more than 6,200 people.
The Eko Nova concert series continues with Fiery Red, a free pre-Valentine’s Day event on Monday, February 13th from 7 to 9 p.m. at KANEKO. Experience Jennifer Higdon’s exploration of mood-evocative color in her Piano Trio, hypnotic waves of mournful sound in Aaron Jay Kernis’ Meditation, and the incredible interplay of instrumental ability in Natalie Williams’ Coathanger Music and Bela Bartok’s Contrasts. Between pieces, you’ll sample sublime pairings of wine and chocolate by renowned Lange Winery and STAM Chocolaterie… and all the while, you’ll be surrounded by the art of KANEKO’s Passion and Obsession.
